Stopped into Tempesta for lunch today, and it definitely hit the spot. Right off the bat, the guy working the counter was awesome, super friendly and in a great mood, which was impressive for a Sunday afternoon, especially the day after St. Patrick's Day. The welcoming vibe definitely set the tone for a good quick meal. We ordered to eat in, and there was plenty of seating inside, plus they even offer some beers if you're dining in, which is a nice touch. The sandwiches were on the pricier side, and while they weren't huge, that's understandable for a smaller deli. I went with the Hey Dante, their take on a classic Italian, which came on French bread, while my friend got the Franklin B., a turkey, avocado, and bacon sandwich with great sauces on classic square bread. We split them in half to try both, and both were really solid I think I liked the Hey Dante just a little more but I'm biased to Italian style sandwiches. My only gripe is that the portion sizes were a bit small for the price, so if you're looking for a heavier lunch, you might need to order extra. But for a lighter meal, it's perfect. Overall, great food, great people--definitely a spot I'd come back to!

Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you're getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it's the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn't get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you're starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I'll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you're doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it's in such high demand, so if you're in Chicago make sure you stop in!

Man, am I hitting "The sandwich" circuit hard here in Chicago! I mean: Doma - 5 Stars Yokocho - 5 Stars Schneider Deli - 5 Stars L'Appetito - 5 Stars and today at Tempesta Market (just) another 5 Star'er! This is getting ridiculous. I had their #13 The B. Franklin - with Roasted Turkey, Hooks 2-Year Cheddar, Pickled Fresno, Sprouts, Pickled Red Onion, Avocado, and Sofrito Aioli on Sourdough My son had their #4 Zeppo's Meatball Achievement Berkshire Pork Meatballs, Mozzarella, Pesto, Tomato-piquillo Sauce on a Lobster roll Both of these sandwiches were outrageously (a word I do not use frequently) good. I think at this point, I'm going to take a rest from lunchtime sandwiches. There is no way I can keep this level of excellence; and i don't want to be disappointed.

Loved the vibe of this shop. Not the biggest, but plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Decided to split two sandwiches: one hot and one cold. Starting with the Yo Vincenzo, I was so disappointed. Chicken parms are some of my favorite sandwiches, but this missed. The chicken was finely breaded and the mozzarella was melted on top, but there wasn't much flavor in the chicken. The biggest issue with this was the baguette which must have been baked and sitting out for a week. It was terrible and ruined the entire sandwich. The other sandwich was the B Franklin. This unlike the "Yo Vincenzo" was a hit. The sourdough was great and had a nice aioli spread on it. Good amount of turkey, really tasty cheese, creamy avocado, and nice amount of acidity from the pickled fresnos and red onions (wish they gave more). I thought all the components worked very well together. I wish sandwiches didn't cost this much in general but with a few more interesting options like the meatball, I'll be back.

Haven't stepped foot in Chicago for too long, but I am (from afar) enjoying the last section of a two pound specimen of mortadella made by this establishment from heritage pork breeds. It was ordered and shipped through a third party so I can't speak to the ambience but I can speak to quality. As a former child who hated bologna and no WAY was I trying olive loaf, I have come a long way and this mortadella is peak. Best in the world, I don't know, but I'll put money on best in the states and globally it would be a contender. It's summer, I'm in S Ctl Texas, it is too damn hot to do anything let alone cook. I first enjoyed this cold in sandwiches or in little slices alongside plates of hard boiled eggs and mayo/mustard. Sometimes just little sneaky snacky slices as the universe and refrigerator manufacturers intended. Then I fried a bit. People recommended this casually but I am telling you it is utter Damascus time when you go from cold to hot with this piece of art. I was worried how I could manage that since I got a whole log and didn't have a deli slicer, which now feels fairly stupid. Slice whatever portions you need or like, it doesn't matter. I'm enjoying it fried up and then put in a little toasty sandwich maker with whatever ingredient whims take me that day. It plays very nicely alongside cheese or pickles. I got it on sale. It is absolutely worth paying full price. I would happily walk into this establishment and try anything, the quality is so nice just from this one (albeit ongoing and two pound) experience. I will be buying again, and am considering buying 2lb servings as gifts. They're good for two months in the fridge after opening.

We picked up the Dante and the B. Franklin. Both sandwiches were so tasty. The quality of the meats stood out to me the most. I also like how each sandwich comes with a side of chips. Worth the price for me! Although we took our sandwiches to-go, there was some nice seating space inside and outside.

Who doesn't love a good sandwich? Dropped in on a Sunday early afternoon with a girlfriend to try The B. Franklin sandwich. Was it worth the price? The trip? Mmmmmmmmh, I don't know. In my humble opinion, I don't believe that sandwich should cost $18.98 after taxes for a sandwich and chips. So let's get into why. Things I appreciated: I liked fresh cut, natural turkey meat being cut to go on my sandwich unlike the process at your local Subway. I thought toasting the bread was a nice touch. Adding on your choice of a fruit or bag of chips is cool. Where it could've been better: The bread was incredibly too hard. If you have dentures or veneers, be mindful of the edges of your bread. You might loose em. The cutting of the meat was all to one side of the sandwich. I felt I had to take it apart and put it back together. The hot peppers.. fire. And I mean it. Spicy and vingeray at the same time! But they skimped out on ensuring it was throughout the entire sandwich. The avocado was much in abundance but bland asl. I also didn't think adding those micro greens was needed. Felt random and thrown in. I'm inclined to return to try a soup and/ or dessert. But if I didn't, I wouldn't care too much about it. I liked Tempesta but did not feel it was a knee slapper/ mind blower.
